Two weeks ago, i received great news that changed my future plans. Saturday, October 6, 2012 I got up and went for a walk with my family in France, then came back and got my homework done. After doing so, my family and I watched the first session of General Conference for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (which is available to watch on LDS.org) It was an amazing first session! It was announced that young men who are worthy and have graduated high school may go on their missions at 18 years old instead of19. That was awesome for me to hear that for my guy friends who get to go sooner now, but then it was announced that girls could serve at 19 instead of 21! So, I did the math and found that I can turn in my paper in 1 year and 3 months from now. This was amazing news and it made me literally leap for utter and utmost joy!
I love this gospel and I am glad that I will be able to serve my Heavenly Father by sharing the gospel with those that I will teach. So, from this day until I turn in my papers I will be preparing even more so to serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
I hope to go a year to college and then off for my mission, and when I come back finish off college and I guess we will see what happens from there. :D I am excited for my future and I am grateful for those who have supported me in my life choices.
Au Revoir,
Laura-May
